Nike 尋求新替代品來取代C8物質

Nike has begun the process of phasing out the use of certain chemicals in our supply chain. We have committed by January 1, 2015 to phasing out the use of long-chain, C8-based perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) that provide water repellency and durability in high performance outdoor products. By that date, we will have completed the transition to C6 or non-fluorinated technologies that have better toxicological and environmental profiles than long-chain C8 repellants.

The commitment to phase out PFC’s by 2015 means that no material will be shipped by a Nike vendor containing this chemistry after that date. This will apply for any product order for Spring 15 and beyond. C8-based PFCs will be restricted by Nike’s Restricted Substance List (RSL) and we are asking you to work with us to meet this goal.
